Growing Your Scentsy Team: Tips for New Leaders

From Solo Consultant to Team Leader
Growing a Scentsy team is one of the most exciting — and challenging — transitions in your Consultant journey. Moving from selling to mentoring requires a different skill set, but the rewards are significant.
Recruit by Attraction, Not Pressure
The best team members come because they see your success and want to learn. Share your genuine experience — what you love about Scentsy, how it fits your life, and real results. People can smell desperation, and high-pressure recruiting tactics backfire more often than they succeed.
Set Expectations Early
When someone joins, have an honest conversation about what success requires: time, effort, consistency, and patience. Don't oversell. A Consultant with realistic expectations stays engaged longer than one promised overnight success.
Create Simple Onboarding
New Consultants are overwhelmed by available information. Create a "first 30 days" checklist: set up website, list 50 contacts, host or co-host first party, learn 5 key products. Keep it manageable and action-oriented.
Be Available Without Overbearing
Check in regularly but respect autonomy. A weekly group message with tips works well. For one-on-one check-ins, a quick "How's it going?" text shows you care without micromanaging.
Celebrate All Wins
First sale? Celebrate. First party? Celebrate. First recruit? Virtual party. Recognition fuels motivation, especially early on. Create a team group chat where wins are shared publicly.
Lead by Example
Keep selling, hosting parties, and posting content. Your activity proves the strategies work. A leader actively building alongside their team earns far more respect than one managing from the sidelines.
Invest in Growth
Read leadership books, attend Scentsy training events, connect with other leaders. The better leader you become, the more your team benefits.
Individual results vary. Scentsy does not guarantee any level of income to its Consultants. Success requires effort, time, and dedication.
